Dean Ornish

Dean Ornish, founder and president of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute and clinical professor of medicine at UCSF

Dr. Ornish's program is the one I initially followed, and later integrated with the diet provided to me by Baylor Diabetic Clinic, which helped me drop from over 250 lbs to 165 lbs.  He is interviewed on San Francisco's National Public Radio (NPR) station KQED at the following link:

After 16 years of review, a local medical doctor's comprehensive program of diet, exercise and therapy has been approved by federal health officials for reimbursement by Medicare and Medicaid for the treatment of heart disease. Dr. Dean Ornish joins us to discuss the program he developed to treat the nation's number one cause of death.
